Physics, themed dates & love

For millions, COVID-19 meant isolation, fear, loss, disruption, and struggle. But, for others, it was amidst that very chaos that they found companionship, strength, and even love.

The latter was true for Abby and Jackson.

“We met while attending College of the Ozarks,” Abby said. “We were simply friends for a little while, but amidst the chaos of COVID, we came together.”

After starting as friends and then realizing they wanted to be more, dating soon turned into something more serious.

“I knew he was the one when he started to in depth describe to me how Physics showed the beauty and intricacy of God,” Abby remembered.

But amidst their growing love, not everything was as serious as Physics.

“We love going on themed dates,” Abby said. “Whether it’s punk rock or Indian Jones styled, we always seek to have fun and experience new things together.”

Through getting to know each other more, new experiences, having fun together, getting through COVID, school, and growing together in their faith, there soon was little doubt that they were on the brink of a forever kind of thing.

After Abby graduated from CofO, Jackson took her on a picnic in a tall, grassy field. It was a hot day for May, and during their picnic, Jackson gave Abby a homemade treasure box with a letter inside. While she was reading the letter, Jackson proposed.

Abby said yes.

They were ready to start wedding planning, and soon, start their life together.

Looking for a Branson-area wedding venue, they settled on The Venue at Shadow Rock.

“We loved the modern vibe, and it fit our budget,” Abby said.

With the venue and date chosen, they set to work planning.

“We planned it [the wedding] while being in a long-distance engagement and while I was out of state,” Abby explained.

Yet despite the challenges of long distance wedding planning, their minimalist boho style came together beautifully on wedding day.

When asked what recommendations they could give future couples, they said, “Don’t over think or plan. Getting married, at the end of the day, is what matters most. Save for the future, not the wedding.”

When their wedding day dawned, it was a beautiful, cloudy spring day, making for a gorgeous, moody vibe that fit perfectly with their wedding style. The décor was simple, elegant, and boho-themed, the doughnuts were plentiful, and the day was filled with sweet moments, faith, and so much love from their friends and family.

One of the sweetest couples we’ve had the honor of hosting had an equally sweet and meaningful wedding day.

“We’re looking forward to growing together, and encouraging one another to grow in our faith and service to the Lord and therefore others,” Abby said.

After getting to know Abby & Jackson, we know their wedding day was a beautiful start to an even more beautiful marriage.
