Pine Trees & Fairy Lights - A Winter Wedding

At Amber & Jacob’s wedding they had a table set up, celebrating love that lasts generations. The table featured photographs of their parents and grandparents on their wedding days, celebrating the legacy of love of those that came before them.

And to all in attendance, it was plain that Amber & Jacob shared that same kind of love.

For them, it was love at first sight, and their story begins all the way back in the 8th grade.

Amber recalls, “Jacob and I first met back in 8th grade. He was enrolled in Trinity Christian Academy and I was a prospective student at the time. I remember our first interaction was nothing short of awkward, filled with the silence and fear all Junior High kids have.”

For Jacob, it was less about awkwardness, and more about love at first sight.

“I knew she was the one the moment I laid eyes on her,” he explained. “I remember telling her back in 9th grade on our very first date that I was going to marry her one day and that I wouldn’t stop pursuing her until I did.”

And he proved to be a man of his word.

After connecting over their mutual interest in video games, they found themselves growing closer and closer to one another and they began dating.

“The more time we spent together, the more we realized that we were made to be a part of each other’s lives,” Amber explained.

As it often does, love grew.

“I didn’t realize he was the one until later in life,” Amber said. “On our group trip to Canada, it all sorta just clicked. The very person I had been asking God to send was right in front of me this whole time.”

After several years of dating, Jacob proposed to Amber in May of 2021, and on Feb. 18, 2022, they were married in front of their family and friends at The Venue at Shadow Rock near Forsyth, Missouri.

Their wedding featured pine trees and fairy lights, showcasing the beauty of a winter wedding.

When asked what they were most looking forward to about their wedding, Jacob said, “I am most looking forward to being able to spend the rest of my life with the person I care the most about – Amber.”

Amber said, “Of course being officially husband and wife, but also getting to see Jacob’s reaction to me in my dress.”

That special moment didn’t disappoint. Neither did the first look with her father, who also performed the ceremony. It was clear that Amber is dearly loved by both men in her life.

When asked what they were both looking forward to about married life, they said: Growing old with one another, helping each other further grow in their relationship with the Lord, and one day starting a family together.

Amber and Jacob are making their home in Branson, MO, just down the road from where their story started at Trinity Christian Academy.

When asked if they had any advice for other engaged couples, they said, “When it comes to wedding planning take thing's slow, listen to one another's ideas and need's, and don't argue over the small stuff. “When it comes to life, keep God at the very center of your relationship, pray for one another daily, and remember to take in every little moment together.”

We think that sounds like the perfect recipe for a love that lasts generations, a kind of love like Amber & Jacob’s.
